Start

Set the grid spacing, number of columns/rows, and average hydraulic gradient, then click OK. The rectangular domain is created automatically.

Properties

• Select above — pick a row (colour), click OK, then draw a polygon on the canvas to paint that zone. Right-click or double-click to close the polygon. Draw as many zones as needed.
• Randomize — assigns a random K zone to each grid cell instantly.
• Fgen92 — generates a spatially correlated random field for a realistic heterogeneous pattern.
• Edit K (m/s) and Porosity (%) values per zone before clicking OK.

Head

Solves the steady-state groundwater head via FEM. Set the number of contour intervals and click OK. Black contour lines are drawn on the domain. Head contours turn grey once flow paths are added.

Flow

• Flow path tracking — click anywhere on the domain to place a seed. A flow line is drawn through that point (forward, backward, or both).
• Particle movement — draw a polygon on the canvas; particles are seeded on a regular grid inside it.
• Set default line colour and thickness before clicking OK.
• Right-click any line to remove it or change its colour/thickness individually.

Animation

• Set travel time per second, time unit (days/years), and frames per second, then click OK.
• Click the canvas to start the animation. Click again to pause/resume.
• After animation completes you can click the canvas to place additional flow paths.

Zoom & Pan

• Mouse wheel — zoom in/out centred on the cursor.
• + / − buttons (bottom-right of canvas) — zoom in/out by 1.5×.
• ⊙ button — reset to fit-to-view.
• Shift + drag or middle-mouse drag — pan the view.
